Volunteer FAQ

How old do I have to be to volunteer?
Volunteer age requirements vary by task and location, with a minimum age of 16 years old.

What sort of tasks will I be doing when I volunteer?
Our volunteers do everything from cleaning kennels and walking dogs to helping answer phones and process adoptions. All new volunteers are required to attend OK Humane 101, at which you will learn more about the opportunities available to you.

What days and times can I volunteer?
OK Humane welcomes volunteers 7 days a week as early as 8:00am and as late as 8:00pm. Volunteer shifts are specific to each location, which you will learn more about at OK Humane 101.

Can I volunteer with my group from church/school/work?
Absolutely! We have 2 locations that can accommodate groups of up to 15 volunteers over the age of 16. Common group tasks include walking dogs, cleaning kennels and cat rooms, feeding and watering cats and dogs, and giving our animals the love and attention they deserve! Interested?
