Many animal rescue organizations have “Humane Society” or “SPCA”(society for the prevention of cruelty to animals) in their names. But did you know that these organizations are not affiliated with or a branch of the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) or the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA)?
