Many of you will remember the penny race held at the Adoption Center last spring. It was a ton of fun and the cats and dogs were neck and neck several times. The cats won the title and are ready to defend it this year!!
How the penny race works:
It’s cats versus dogs, the cats will have their own donation jar as will the dogs. Each penny is worth 1 point. Anything silver or paper detracts points, so a nickel will take away 5 points, a dime 10 points, a dollar 100 points and so on.
So, since I’m a tiny bit more of a cat person, for example, I’ll be throwing all my pennies into the cat donation jar and anything silver or paper into the dog jar.
We’re gearing up for the penny race to be held during the entire month of April and really looking forward to it!! Everyone needs to start emptying out cars, looking under couch cushions and setting up collection jars at work to collect as many pennies (and silver/paper) to help out the animals!
