Many of you may be aware that puppy season has hit the Oklahoma City Animal Shelter full force already and all our staff is working very hard to save as many as possible.
We’ve planned a puppy adoption special for the last week in March, the 23rd – 28th at the Adoption Center and we will also run the special out our outreaches that weekend.
All adoption fees on puppies under 6 months of age will be half price!
Can’t adopt? How about fostering for a while?
We’re looking to foster as many puppies as possible leading up to this special! Please consider fostering a litter or even one or two little ones. If you haven’t fostered puppies before and are willing to give it a try – we’re all here to support you!
Please contact Caitlin at caitlin@okhumane.org if you’d be interested in fostering.
Please call the adoption center at (405) 286-1229 if you have any questions about the adoption special.

We are looking for a German Shepherd puppy but also will consider an older pure bred.
Jody, we are thrilled you are wanting to adopt a puppy! We often have GSDs in our adoption program; you can always check our list of adoptable animals (just click on “adopt” in the main navigation on this web site), as we have different animals coming through the program all the time.
if we don’t have the dog you’re looking for when you are ready to adopt, check out http://www.petfinder.com and search for German Shepherd; you will see many dogs available from different rescue groups in the area.
If our adoption specialists can help you at all in your search, please contact adoptions@okhumane.org or call 405-286-1229.
