This is heartbreaking. The more aware the community is of this type of issue, the more likely we can stop this from continuing.Thank you for sharing this, I had no idea this was such large problem.

Puppy mills are the most horrid things on earth. They sale sickly, malajusted puppies to unsuspecting people. The dogs used for breeding don’t know love, good care, vet care, or being able to run and play. The cute puppies you see at pet shops, are from puppy mills. Too many people think that if they buy a puppy with a huge price tag at a pet shop, they are getting a dog to show and breed. They can’t be convinced that what they actually bought is a genetically inferior dog that often has severe genetic medical conditions. Don’t buy from pet shops and really check out any breeder you’re thinking of buying from. Go to where the puppy was bred and investigate the entire place. This also applies to cats.
