Who is Rita?
Rita Hoch is a founding board member of the Central Oklahoma Humane Society. She continues to serve on the board and works along side staff in the intake process, medical care and the adoption program. Prior to this, Rita has been associated with various organizations as well as actively volunteering for the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare Division.
Through her years in animal welfare, there has never been a program specifically designed to aid those animals who require extraordinary veterinary care. Almost always these animals are euthanized because the funds are not there to help them. Many of these animals would have made lovely companions if only they could have received the care they needed. Something needed to be done. The Central Oklahoma Humane Society also believes these animals deserve a second chance, therefore, Rita’s Angel Fund was developed.
Rita continues her efforts promoting animal welfare, working toward the goal of ending euthanasia of healthy adoptable animals in our community.
Rita lives in Oklahoma City with her husband and son, as well as her family dogs and cats, all of whom came from local area animal shelters.
