Event Location

The My Life as a Dog Challenge will take place in Bricktown, Oklahoma City, September 12-19, 2009. It is located near the intersection of S. Mickey Mantle Drive and East California Avenue, near the Bricktown Ballpark and the entrance to the Water Taxis.

The Central Oklahoma Humane Society (OK Humane) will challenge contestants from the Oklahoma City Metro area to chain themselves up to doghouses to create a unique reality tv-style contest. The last person to withstand living chained to an eco-friendly doghouse wins a new natural gas vehicle donated by Chesapeake Energy Corporation.

Objectives

1. To raise awareness of the cruel and inhumane practice of dogs living on chains as well as the community repercussions
2. To effectively promote the Chain-Off competition through local, regional and national media channels resulting in print stories, broadcast coverage and social media “buzz”
3. Raise funds for OK Humane through the Dog house auction, “chaining accessories” for contestants and web-site sponsoring of contestants
