Selection Process
Interested individuals will fill out the My Life as a Dog Challenge preliminary screening application, complete with contact information, and answer the questions posed to them. Questions may include:
- Why do you want to be in this contest?
- Do you have a rescued dog? If so, tell us the story.
- What is your perception of what will occur at this event?
- Do you have any special medical/dietary needs?
Contestants must also consent to the terms of the challenge as transcribed by OK Humane legal counsel and presented to them on the application. (Each applicant will be asked to submit a photo of him/herself and the dog he/she is sponsoring, if applicable.)
Applicants must be willing to commit to the full length of the contest, Sept. 12 through Sept. 18, and be in attendance for the kick-off event, Sept. 9 and the winner’s reception, Sept. 19.
All challenge applications for entry must be received by August 21, 2009.
After the August 21st deadline, all applicants who have entered will be judged and selected by media sponsor, KJ 103. Eight contestants will be chosen at the discretion of the third party and will be based on their responses to the open-ended questions.
In addition to the eight selected applicants, media sponsor KJ 103 will choose eight backup contestants in the event that one or more original contestants are unable to participate in the contest.
OK Humane will notify those individuals selected by phone call four days prior to the public announcement. The public announcement will take place Sept 4th, 2009.
