“Puck”

Hi my name is Johnny and a big thanks to everyone who organized this event. To be involved in such an unreal adventure, bringing awareness of the inhumane treatment of animals, is a rare and distinct opportunity. I moved back to Norman from Baton Rouge, Louisiana to be back in the city where my parents live, both of whom are having surgeries. By being here I will be available to help them with whatever they need during their recovery. This event will, most certainly, be a very singular experience and something to reflect upon in years to come. I wish everyone the best and I hope that everyone finds some way to support The Humane Society’s noble cause.

“Butch SASSidy”

Howdy Everyone! I’m Terry Lea, the OklaHOMO from Norman, OK. I spend most of my time working as a nurse at St. Anthony Hospital in OKC. When I’m not saving lives, I am hanging out with my beautiful daughter, Kaedyn, and my dog, Patrick. I have the exterior of a rough Rottweiler with an inner prissy Poodle clawing to get out….hence the name, “Butch SASSidy”. Be sure and tune in to my blog and give me a vote!

“Beast”

My name is Heather aka “ the Beast” I am 23 years young and my favorite thing to do is hang out with my amazing two year old daughter, Chloe. I am a cosmetologist and I’m in school at heritage collage to become an esthetician (GO FIGHTING LEAFS). To sum it up in a nut shell, I have never had a hand out in my whole life, between school and work my day starts at 5:30am  and ends at 9:00pm.

On top of that my husband has just recently had to move to Arizona for 18 months so that he can go to school so we can make a better life for our daughter. With him being gone that leaves me to take care of his dog Daisy, did I mention I’m not a dog person or animal person at all.  In order to become more compassionate toward my husband’s dog I applied for the contest, not to mention that a car would be wonderful.

I have chosen Beast for my dog name because I think of myself the little Chihuahua, I feel like every one in the competion  will underestimate me, but I promise my bite is bigger than my bark!!!

“Princess Ginger Love McWooferson”

I’m the funniest girl you’ve never met, unless you’ve met me, and then I just might be the funniest girl you know.  I was voted most likely to be chained to a dog house in high school.. no not really, but I was voted class clown.  I like long walks on the beach, singing in the shower and at karaoke.  I’m an Aquarius.

On a serious note, I find my happiness in saving animals and making a difference to these innocent lives.  I thank you in advance for supporting me in my plight to make people aware of the horrors and misery an animal feels when chained.  I’m in this competition for all the dogs I see on a daily basis living this lonely way of life.  Maybe it’ll make a difference to that one. (starfish story) VOTE FOR PRINCESS GINGER LOVE MCWOOFERSON!

“Aum”

as the originator, director, & instructor of art of yoga studio & gallery in the historic paseo arts distric in Okc, my business & entire life’s mission seek to bring awareness to the practice of yoga as well as assisting all other creatures on their paths to wholeness & wellnbeing (including all of our four leggedfriends). I combined a vibrant entreprenurial spirit with a tenacious compassion for communities not yet exposed to the practices of conscious living. I am competing because I believe how we treat & care for ourselves ultimately determines how we treat & care for our families, friends, & pets& those around us. What better way to utilize an environmentally conscious vehicle than to transport into urban & rural communities a message of wholeness & wellbeing to all living celteatures. I will I sure that a message of tollerance & kindness and personal improvement will be extended to people in communitites that would otherwise be left without access. A vote for AUM is a vote for the improvement of ALL creatures!

“Bear”

WOOF!! My name is Bear A.K.A. Jim Robbins the Old Dog. I am 52 on Sept 7th, and my anniversary is Sept 14th, it looks like I will be a little tied up around that time. I am going to be chained to a dog house to show awareness of the cruelty to dogs that are chained and forgotten. I am also showing that I can do this even with me being “OLD”. We OLD people also have the guts, determination, and of course the desire to WIN that new car. Please cast your vote for BEAR and donate in my name for the love of dogs. WARNING: TO ALL THE OTHER CONTESTANTS “ I AIN”T DEAD YET SO GET READY AND LET’S GET IT ON !!”

“Felony”

My challenge name is “Felony” because that’s what I believe the penalty should be for chaining a dog to a stationary object for its lifetime. As a Deputy Sheriff, I routinely witness mind-numbing acts of animal neglect and abuse – many of which involve well-fed but weary dogs mercilessly tethered on log chains. Unfortunately, food and shelter do not negate the physical and psychological harm done to these dogs. I believe core-value education is a the key to preventing generations of such ignorance. And while I admit the stubborn old dog owner may be a lost cause, I will certainly plead my case to his children and grandchildren. For me, the car donated by Chesapeake Energy is a wonderful prize, but the dogs are the “cause”. “Talk the talk” just to win a car, “Walk the walk” to help the dogs. I will gladly endure this week of discomfort and inconvenience to raise awareness for what many dogs must endure for a lifetime.
