Sat. the final morning

AUM:  …ode…to a very merry un-birthday! …heard rumors of Ms Aprilhelen coming my way!  …feels like a brand new life … social responsibility shall be my wife … heightened fire for many a cause will stay, & stay, & stay … }*{ … aaauuummm …

aprilhelen loves.  Cheers to all … those on the chains that will be removed … those who will learn not not all kinds of laws the hold responsibility on a pedestal.

So all the contestants, thank you, many blessings be yours …

Ms Felony, of all the stories i’ve followed this week, yours is the most deserving of this win.

Mr Bear, as you even said so yourself the first day we met, i liked you from the moment i shared that table @ orientation.  (quitting smoking … good for you!)

Mr Butch Sassidy, energetically, you have great value to me & i so look forward to sharing a practice (of some kind?) with you, your care shines through & i am your mirror.

Mr Puck, thanks for the laughter, silent laughter that is … for keeping the entertainment steady with your amusement as you amuse yourself.

Ms Beast, i liked the mere face that you admitted your lack of care from the very beginning … & to watch & listen to you evolve in seemingly long, yet short, week.

Ms Princess, Mr Walker ~ good for you & what you do for the stimulation of  continuing awareness of any kind on this planet.

Voters, family, friends, students, fans, community, … the world …

think before you speak … be thankful for the challenges … dowse yourself with daily praise … be of service to your fellows

AUM:  i just know aprilhelen will be here soon, i feel it … won’t she … where is this feeling coming from an why do we have to be all chained up … the other dogs look lost too … What is this?  this torment is worsening daily … my belly aches, i’m beginning to loose positivity – all these people who stare cannot even help {sigh, sit, lay, sighhhhh…}

aprilhelen can imagine the perfect day for Sept 19, 2010 & shall meditate on it’s manifestation without attachment to expectation. Morning practice w/ a smile … crowds gather … celebration begins with heavy chains lifted as my friends salute the effort.

Each of us win a car for making this genuine care of a point that has brought attention to chained, neglected animals!  TAP, Jordan & assoc., & Flintco ask if i want to store a yoga box, aka dog coop, @ art of yoga for my continued use & pleasure.

We dismiss to harrry H’s party boat @ Lake Hefner (my beautiful Ms Sandy can certainly arrange!)  <of course this is after all contestants meet Aubrey McClendon @ Honda dealership to sign papers!!!>

The celebration ends w/ a gorgeous sunset w/ oysters, sushi, mac N chz, & champagne & dancing to band that’s on the land nearby … LOVE IT !!!

The day shall end w/ a delightful jacuzzi tub (?) & a nice comfy bed (?) <Ms Sarinda you said something of hotel room ;-) >

Bliss will remain.  Devotion to spreading the love of kindness to all creatures will endure!

P.S. if that scenerio if not on the cosmic books … Robby, please, bring me my scooter … someone call him & greatly request this!!!

Too Fun!!!

AUM:  Walker, now Princess …is being taken a good thing … i’m wondering if my guardian will ever return … mmmmm … plenty of smells around here to sniff … ooooo – winged thing {wag, wag, bolt, choke, squeel} … stupid heavy chain!

aprilhelen is fey is a good way; however, can you imagine the psychology of our canine friends that don’t have the satisfaction of social interaction.  May this event do just what is intended to do … as we all are trying to do something about the neglect that some feel is ok.  Silence is a practice in yoga, in creating balance from all of inundatin that this media – this for a duration, begin very small…then grow that length, see how well you do with fasting from a vocal expression.  if that is not your gig today – take a break from something that may help you gain a different perspective…remember the yoga of moderation?  Here are a few more observance – you can ask yourself if you are a yogi of honesty, discipline, & non-attachment …?  Do you want to learn more?  Perhaps the other contestants who have joined this great cause for various reason would like to take the opportunity … so now i extend a 2 week unlimited pass @ Art of yoga in the Paseo to the 7 who began here with me last Saturday … i would love to open my home, center, school (not to mention art gallery) to you & continue our relationship!  Simply come see us after the contest.

Exciting day – @ dinner a mass of friends came – a special thanks to Mr Nathan for escorting my lovely Ms Kat!!!  what a treat to eat dinner while they chatted @ each other on the other side of the fence!

AUM: awe, time outside! (wag, wag, wag). I even went out in the rain – fun times – not fun chain, neck getting tired….ooooo, I remembered – Duncan came to see me – couldn’t believe it, I balled right when he got here and then again cried myself to sleep….booooo, I want to cuddle- surely she’ll come to get me soon!

AprilHelen: “Yoga” is the sanskrit word for “to Yoke”….to bring together opposites, to create union of differences, joining together of all parts to make a whole. Many look at this practice for oneself like a tree…we must be rooted i our truest self in order to grow. think of 8 limbs…the posture practice that you are probably most familiar with (and probably react with an “I can’t do yoga”) is only 1/8 of the whole.

The first two limbs control of self through observances and restraints….guess what KINDNESS is the first mentioned in many philosophies – certainly you may be practicing this already – You are doing the yoga of ahimsa! You are a yogi! check out some other ways you may be…

greedlessness, non-want, purity (outside, inside, thoughts, words, deeds), contentment, self-study, moderation/social responsibility, ultimate surrender (to yourself, to divine purpose, to ultimate divinity) -just to name a few.

Now adding the physical – posture control and breath control.

The 4th limb control of the senses; some say withdrawing from them, yet first you must be saturated in order to let go.

The 6th and 7th, separate and equally important and often mixed and confused…you must first learn to concentrate, then can move on to meditate – each must be practiced separately and finally – ultimation – the fine balance of this all, creating a whole you -

Isn’t it a fantastic journey!!! I again ask you “are you aware of your practices and how they affect…even 7 generations beyond your walk on this sphere? Do IT!

All my continued love sent to you my friends! And remember I am already a winner!

AUM: (is out of the doghouse, mesmerized by harmonies and melodies of Zeeeeeee Teeeeeeee!!!!)

AprilHelen:

My the BEST wo-man-dog win? Best, like TIME, is all relative. I am the best I can be! I am the best spirit that the universal energy, God (if you prefer), could have placed in this body.

Certainly, there are those best at manipulation. There are even seemingly bad situations that in reality are the best (well, only if you learned the lessons involved!) possible actions at that particular moment in all relative time.

The greater omnipresence knows there are no coincidences in the cosmos. Challenge presented are yours – perfectly yours- it’s how you choose to either spontaneously react – or consciously make a decision as a response. What will you do with circumstances presented? BEST – huh?

There are those who are the best at complaining – do you cheer them on? There are those who are the best at slamming the port-o-potty doors…..at swishy swashy their flip flop in the puddled grass…..best at judgemental faces when they cannot speak….best at having no confidence…..best at eating meals even when they are not organic…best at lipping words even though told not to communicate….best at getting away with talking….best at being a hypocrite….best at practicing……best at being afraid….best at not taking risks…..best at taking risks…..best friend…..best enemy….best water….best worst car to drive…..best car for the environment…best dog chainer so a competitor like this can be placed to raise awareness that dog chaining is not the best! So, what say you? Are you the best at what you can be today? Are you the best at really questioning your decision and eventual efforts? Or are you the best at bad mouthing when the subject has their back turned? Or best at having a network of community that supports you in all the ways their good intention knows how; without fear and judgement, full of love and kindness?

Who are you today? Are you who you say you are? Are you who you want to be?

I am – and I am in perfect time- it may not be your time – i am that.

Aum: rain, rain go away: then i can go outside to play! rain, rain stay all day: then i’ll stay inside and lay :-(  … ooooooo, that black think w/ wings looks like he’s having fun w/ worms .. whhhhy, wwhhy WHYyyy am i still here, chain heavy, hard home – where’s aprilhelen when i need her …. oooooooo, new insect to watch {wag, sigh} ~ i know she didn’t mean to do this! she’ll come soon, won’t she ???

aprilhelen: one of my favorite books says it all brilliantly … the concept that the old adage “walk a mile in another man’s shoes (before condemning)” … i’ll try now to do it justice~

In your mind’s eye conjure up a picture of one of your primitive ancestors of cave dwelling times …  a short, misshapen, snarling hulk of a man, standing legs spread, club raised, breathing hate and animosity as he looks fiercely just ahead. Now such a picture hardly depicts the divine dignity of man! perhaps allow me to enlarge the picture… b in front of this animated human crouches a saber toothed tiger, behind him – a woman’s two children. You immediately recognize that which is fine and noble in the human race; you are favored by a widened horizon, you begin to understand him. If we could only know our fellows, we would eventually fall in love with them. Love does not happen by a mere act of will: love is only born of thorough going to understanding of your neighbor’s motives & sentiments. If you could love on more of your fellows each day, each week, or even each month if that is the limit of your ability – you are truely socializing & truely spiritualizing your personality! love is infectious; yet only genuine & unselfish love is supremely contagious – & when human devotion is intelligent & wise – love  is more catching than hate. Could you imagine if divine love was the priority on each of our minds – love would prevade the sentimental emotion stream to such an extent that all humanity would be encompassed by love! & that would be the realization of the brotherhood of mankind …

& canine kind!!!

I love you all – love is the desire to do good to others!!!

for me today – pratyahara – not allowing outside world distractions to distract me from my purpose. Aum

AUM: huh?  thought for sure by now I wouldn’t be here either …. where’d they take Walker?  is that a treat i smell again?  oh, no it’s only those on the other side of that fence that keep staring, questioning & passing by with no help to me … this has lasted how long & surely i’m not doomed to this box … wait, wait, oh, the fun – finally – today – the SUN!!!

aprilhelen: always thought losers of competitions sounded silly when they said, “i’m a winner anyway!” ~ i don’t think it’s so funny anymore … i am a winner – we all are – just for having the heart for animals, enough to want to show our support for this great cause, means we are some of the more compassionate beings on this world.

Being raised on a farm, i saw no chained animals on our land – excepting the chickens, when they went inside the coop @ night.  However, many of the other farm owners around penned their animals religiously.  Walking to the bus stop each morning i wondered why our animals had a different life?  This has been heavy on my mind today.  There are just so many differences of opinion in animal control.  Some chain dogs SO they can fight with more viciousness.  Our family farm called each animal by name & EACH one had a job for the greater good of the farm.

What say you?  there is a great difference in owning animals with care & having to place a chain every once in a while (so they do not jump a fence) and irresponsibly owning them when you don’t even want to & neglecting them for days, weeks, months … i have even heard horror stories of animals being locked in a house as the tenants have moved away!

Revisit character – that which is the true you, what you do when no one is looking!

Now on to my blessing to friends on my winning (already) team:

Mr. Nathan was that a mirage or a double feature?

Ms. Carol – you don’t even know how you’ve helped me feel @ home

Ms Karen P – it was the thought that counted

Ms Jennifer – i nailed a perfect handstand for the crowd!

Ms Karen tl – thanks for smiles

aprilhelen:

CHAINS ON to OFF CHAINS

we are all chained some how in our existence on this world, just as we are chained here til death of the human physical form, the chaining of animals is surely one of the most cruel.  what you may be chained to that has negative affects?  we are chained by politically correctness.  we are chained by our fears that disallow us to grow to know ourselves completely … if we do not know ourselves truely – how can we ever begin to treat ourselves w/ highest regard of respect – & if we can not do this w/ ourselves, we surely can not do this w/ other living creatures, especially these whom we think less of … respond – do not react!

Mr Eric – matches were for inscense!

Ms Sarinda, Mr Zak – what beauty you uplifted my morning with – as i seem to be maintaining it quite well.

Mr harry, Mr Chris ~ i do believe the jig was the moment i felt i wanted to let out a boysterous scream the most :-)

& those anonymous donors – i love the emergenC packets!  i washed my face and hair today!  the essential oils are keeping me healthy from the outside in!

My friends @ Paseo Grille: love the clean shirt!

& certainly not least – this is a great BIG shout out of thanks to Ms Robin – art of yoga manager – such a wonderful lady to have on my team – she’s keeping things going – so give her a hug for me !!!

Love is in the air for our furry friends – i can feel it -

aprilhelen:  definitely being reminded, as we are @ the top of day #3, over, & over, & over again, to fend amusement in those things most often that are taken for granted!  ie – this blog is 2 of my favorite times of the day – another – meal time!  & most of all when I see an unexpected friend !!!

Mr. Nathan – you saved my neck during sleep with your simple suggestion }*{ & hanging out for a while awe, sleep was sooooooooo…much more comfy last night DUE TO BLANKET!!!  whomever did that just know you are a nesting angel!  it allowed me to dream more vividly ~ not to mention the cleaner i am of alcohol, the more clear dreams become ~ last night … i need to tell my mother about some snakes in her garden ;-)

i am hearing snickering of tallied votes … who would be the best advocate that will do more for the cause – ask yourself this!

a vote for AUM is a vote for every a chain free home.

Aum: why does this not feel right? so many kind souls on the other side of that fence … why don’t they come pet me … i’m nice … the longer i stay here, the lonlier, the more confused … ooooo … what’s that swarm of black things above me in the tree? … is that a familiar smell? oh, i think … ahhhhh DUNCAN!!!

aprilhelen: as most of you know Sundays are a favorite of mine! don’t think i’ve ever spent a sunday with a chain on (@ least not all day!)

Today, i ponder fairness & how the world often is not! apparently “carry on bag” comes in ALL sizes … i guess some of these dogs have really oversized planes they travel on to carry on an entire sleeping bag!!! as least i got my pillow & blanket!!! awe- the blanket – amazing how my heart melted from that anonymous contribution ~ what great caretakers friends are with friends in a competition … Great thanks to Ms Amy & Mr Eric for the smiles & comfort!!!! Now let’s take that enthusiasum & spread the word of, not only chain free homes, also spaying and nuetering … if we took a dog bite out of what may be a major cause of irresponsibility, then perhaps it would dramatically lessen the need to be uncaring.

getting really used to this scene in bricktown ~ reading signs all over: did you know chained dogs collars are often so tight, when some have been found the skin has GROWN around the collar! No Way, i say! that would make you vicious as well, huh?!!

oh, my precious friend! i know i am surrounded daily at the yoga studio in paseo that i have created with & for you! it seems we are the conscious ones that already know how to treat all creatures … so it is up to us to talk up the demeaning, sorrow filled acts that causes such suffering.

This car you are helping me win will be used for just that… giving are of yoga the eco-friendly ability to team up with rural okla. clinics, thanks to Dr. Brett Krablin & his partners to march this message all over our state!

Special thanks to an amazing soul who brought gorgeous harmonies & calming melodies to sooth my ears filled w/ the wanderings of my mind … often hanging on the words of who’s 1st … which i don’t even care to know! Zak … you saved this misting downtown day!

Oh, i remembered the vivid part of my dream…Christy Counts we hugged & cried! i said my embarrassed sorries for being almost late! as i adore your efforts.

aum:  why am i still here in this let?  there are other furry friends around, they won’t play!  ooooo … was that a squirrel?  i’m gonna go catch that bugger!  {*wag, wag, bolt, choke*} ugh, this stupid chain!

aprilhelen:  day two is greeted with a with a sour face & a sore spine, nothing that a little yoga won’t cure later!

remembering the heartbreaking moment last week when i was passing out flyers to create awareness about this event…there was a chained precious one tied in an alley next to some shops on classen around 28th.  of course i couldn’t do anything about it with the laws, or shall i say – lack there of!  here on the plains, she was suffering for attention, had no info on her tag, and wore a pittiful frown as i walked away!

Here again, i shout, do you really think you deserve to be a guardian of that which you treat unlike yourself?!!!?!!?

Surely you’ve heard of this supreme version of the Golden Rule: treat others as you would treat yourself — in the philosophies wrapped in the package of creating union of consciousness, ie yoga, you’ll discover one of the basic units of the evolution of self is AHIMSA = non violence; & we inspire you now to look even deeper beyond simply not acting with violence….push yourself even further to act with supreme kindness!

Sai Baba once said:

Before you speak, ask yourself; is it kind, is it necessary, is it true, does it improve on the silence?

So this with not only expressions through the vocal chords!  Ask yourself this with each & every thought, word, ded, job, relationship, each & every conscious decision….remembering every decision SHOULD BE A CONSCIOUS DECISION!!

Again I am thankful for the comforts I receive here that our canine friends rarely have the fortune…..Nona’s made up a fabulous doggy bag …. didn’t catch a name yet I received toothpaste, chap stick & probably my life saver for the entire week = JOY, an essential oil that’ll dare to improve my mood while I await a BLANKET – last night was VERY challenging

September 12th, 2009

Aum:  Why did April Helen leave me here?  ooooo… did I smell doggy treat?  Why are they on the other side of the fence?  they look like they want to pet me!  I’m petable!  Oh, is that?  What is that coming from the air… It’s making me cold… I’m going in the coop… man this chain is heavy!

April Helen:  So very interesting this experience already has become.  Heavy on my mind… How chaining of animals, especially very social beings like dogs and humans, is not only cruel… it becomes a catalyst of psychological issues, demeaning emotions and warranted anger growth.  (Like why am I writing with a red pen… was this intentional?)

Immediately, I am infatuated with the desire to get the massive word out regarding responsibility!  If you don’t have the time, the love and the motivation to care for a pet… why?  Why are you keeping your measly efforts chained to a small house out back… if the dog is ever lucky enough to have shelter.  This is quite different circumstances.  The chained pet often becomes very anti-social, yet can continue its canine communication… no barking allowed here!  A quite hum keeps me company… and nitric oxide levels high!

No Better Cause!!!

All About Me

September 12th, 2009

as the originator, director, & instructor of art of yoga studio & gallery in the historic paseo arts distric in Okc, my business & entire life’s mission seek to bring awareness to the practice of yoga as well as assisting all other creatures on their paths to wholeness & wellnbeing (including all of our four leggedfriends)

I combined a vibrant entreprenurial spirit with a tenacious compassion for communities not yet exposed to the practices of conscious living.

I am competing because I believe how we treat & care for ourselves ultimately determines how we treat & care for our families, friends, & pets& those around us.

What better way to utilize an environmentally conscious vehicle than to transport into urban & rural communities a message of wholeness & wellbeing to all living celteatures

I will I sure that a message of tollerance & kindness and personal improvement will be extended to people in communitites that would otherwise be left without access

A vote for AUM is a vote for the improvement of ALL creatures!
