We are excited to welcome a new Executive Director of Operations to our team! Dr. Mac McCrory joined the OK Humane staff roster in May of 2012. Dr. McCrory will be will be leading the day-to-day operations of the organization including development, adoption and spay/neuter initiatives.
He and his wife, Dana, live with their 15 year old son, Ethan. They have 4 cats and 2 dogs….all rescue. They have fostered dogs and cats. Mac has 3 grown children and 4 grandchildren. He has been an OSU professor and administrator and a pilot in the airlines and the Air Force. He has authored 2 books. He teaches part time for the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits and he facilitates staff and board retreats for nonprofits in Oklahoma. He and Dana love to travel when not taking care of their animals. Their most recent trip was a conservation safari to Rwanda and Kenya, Africa, where they learned about endangered Mountain Gorillas and African Elephants. Dana is Executive Director of the Oklahoma Zoological Society, so you could say that they have the animal world covered. Mac loves the outdoors. You can find him every morning walking Lake Hefner with his dog, Zorra, or playing golf on really pretty days. The McCrory’s have some unusual names for their pets. Dogs, Zorra de Flop and Sophie Bella; Cats, Foo Man Slick, Princess Gracie Azul, Randagi de Gato, and Stevie Bob Eddy.
When asked why he made the move to OK Humane, Mac responded “For anyone to drag me out of retirement, you know they would have to be absolutely amazing. OK Humane is that group. Fantastic mission and an amazing group of people. We can see our progress every day in every life we save.”
As we continue to move forward in our disaster relief efforts, we have received a huge amount of support in so many ways.
