Braxton came into the OK Humane program from the OKC Animal Shelter in March 2013. The adorable one year old pug was transferred into a foster home, where it was noticed that he was having a difficult time breathing. As it turned out, Braxton had two debilitating conditions affecting his nasal passages and palate. Due to this, every time he would sleep, play or get excited, he would breathe heavily and loudly – even more than most Pugs.
OK Humane decided to put together a campaign to raise the necessary funds for the surgery that would save Braxton’s life. The little pug captured the attention of a multitude of generous donors, and quickly received the medical attention he needed.
Today, Braxton is breathing easier than ever. He can play, sleep and enjoy life in a way that he couldn’t before – and he is doing it in the comfort of his foster turned adoptive forever home. Thanks to the amazing community that supports OK Humane, we are able to greatly improve the quality of life of dogs like Braxton.
