Mellony had recently had to put her own lab to sleep, and the photo of Boomer struck a chord with her. She and her niece, Hannah, made the 13-hour drive to Oklahoma City overnight and arrived bright and early Saturday morning. They spent the day meeting volunteers and staff, and even helped get ready for the event.
Mellony was Group A, Number 1 and had one goal on her mind – to get Boomer. Once the doors opened, she promptly began the process of adopting the sweet seven year old lab. After completing the paperwork, Mellony, Hannah and Boomer made their way back home to Minnesota. Mellony says that Boomer is sweet as can be, with wonderful manners and a love for life.
