Staff Spotlight: Clinic Teamwork Saves Lives

March 5th, 2012

By Samantha Burnett, Director of Operations

Both of our surgery teams are now one big, happy family!

Due to unforeseen events, the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare Division (OKCAWD) has temporarily lost access to their veterinary surgery clinic for an unspecified time. In order to assist the staff and animals at the OKC Animal Shelter, OK Humane was able to loan our SE OKC Clinic surgery space to OKCAWD during this time period. Our In-House Clinic staff has moved in with our OK Humane Place Clinic crew and we have two veterinarians performing surgery there multiple days a week. Wow!!

Approximately 200 animals per week would be losing the opportunity to be spayed/neutered and adopted into new homes at the OKC Shelter. We are so happy that OK Humane has the amazing staff to be so flexible in order to make this happen.
