COMMUNITY MEETING FOR OPEN ADOPTIONS
SPONSORED BY THE ASPCA
The Oklahoma City Animal Welfare Division and the Oklahoma Humane Society would like to invite you to a very special meeting sponsored by the ASPCA. We are incredibly lucky to have the truly-famous Dr. Emily Weiss and Susan Britt travel to Oklahoma City to facilitate a conversation about open adoptions.
As most of you know, the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare Division and the Central Oklahoma Humane Society are competing with other communities to become an ASPCA "Mission Orange" city. In true "Mission Orange" fashion, we are carefully scrutinizing our current adoption practices and are looking to implement some changes. These changes are critical to improving our live release rate in the community.
Here's some good news: A nice selection of beverages and hot & cold Hors D' Oeuvres will be provided, compliments of the ASPCA, so don't worry about missing dinner!
Remember to RSVP back to Christy Counts or Catherine English BY SEPTEMBER 28TH if you plan to attend so we can plan for the correct number of attendees. Christy can be reached at Christy@okhumane.org. Catherine can be reached at catherine.English@okc.gov.
We're all looking forward to seeing as many of you at this important Community Meeting as possible!
